Hi there! My name is Bree. I am a registered dietitian, writer, and nutrition expert based in San Francisco, California.

I believe a healthy relationship with food is much like a relationship with a close friend — it's complex and requires ongoing effort and understanding. As such, eating well is multifaceted: we must have the knowledge to make informed choices, the emotional grounding to navigate our cravings and behaviors, and the practical skills to prepare nutritious meals.

Just like in any relationship, good communication is key. Learning how our bodies signal hunger, and nourishing it accordingly, is the foundation for establishing sustainable, healthy eating habits that support overall wellbeing.

Here you will find recipes designed to keep you curious and satisfied. I love incorporating functional foods — ingredients that offer benefits beyond basic nutrition — as well as thoughtful food pairings to maximize your nutrition. For instance, pairing vitamin C-packed strawberries with oats can enhance iron absorption, mixing avocado with leafy greens helps you get the most out of fat-soluble vitamins, and combining protein-containing almonds with fruit can improve blood sugar response. Intentional combinations such as these + nutrient-rich ingredients can support your health and help you master the art of appetite.
